Environmental Groups Sue U.S. Agency to Protect Walruses From Oil Drilling

A coalition of environmentalists are suing the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to stop a regulation that would let oil drillers in the Arctic harm walruses.

According to the lawsuit, a new rule by the U.S. agency would allow Arctic oil exploration and the effect on walruses, who are already suffering from climate change, is underestimated.

The oil companies, however, say the new law is fair and it already protects the species.
