Patient at Richmond Hospital Tests Negative for Ebola

A woman who visted Crossover Healthcare Ministry in Richmond, Virginia Oct. 13 and was tested for Ebola does not have the virus, health officials say.

The young woman, whose name was not made public, complained of a fever. The hospital immediately isolated her and contacted the Richmond City Health District as well as the Virginia Department of Health.

"It was determined that the patient did not satisfy all the clinical criteria for Ebola, yet due to the patient´s travel history and low-grade fever, it was determined reasonable to recommend further evaluation," Donald Stern, director of the city health district, says.
