Gay Marriage Will Become Legal in Five More States, Supreme Court Rules

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday decided not to review rulings that cleared the way for gay marriage in Virginia, Utah, Oklahoma, Indiana and Wisconsin.

The court’s action immediately ends delays on marriage in those five states. According to several polls conducted in 2014, between 55 and 59 percent of Americans approve of gay marriage.

The ruling makes same-sex marriage legal in 24 states and the District of Columbia.
