Kathy Bates Undergoes Double Mastectomy After Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Oscar winner Kathy Bates reveals that she is fighting breast cancer. The actress had a double mastectomy after getting the diagnosis.

"Luckily, I don´t have to undergo radiation or chemo. My family calls me Kat because I always land on my feet, and thankfully this is no exception," the 64-year-old said.

Bates also battled ovarian cancer in 2003. She plans to attend the Emmy Awards Sept. 23 where she could receive an award for "Outstanding Actress in a Drama" for her role in "Harry´s Law".
