L.A. Adult Entertainment Group Urges Halt to Filming Due to Syphilis Outbreak

A pornography and adult entertainment trade group in L.A. has called for a nationwide halt to filming as performers are tested for syphilis.

One sex performer has reportedly tested positive, and the performer´s sex partners are being notified. At least five possible cases of the sexually transmitted disease were reported last week.

Syphilis can be treated with a single shot of penicillin but those who have the disease more than a year require additonal doses of penicillin.

I don´t see how the porn actors aren´t all infected with every STD that has ever existed.

It´s called constant and consistent testing of those who are employed by the industry. You start with a clean bill of health on all your participants, you follow certain medical guidlines, and you can pretty much make certain you won´t catch anything truly horrible.

I think this story shows that the medical guidelines are a failure when the actors "screw" the system like this idiot did. Porn actors use so many drugs that hepatitis C is a problem, also A & B.
