Southwest and Other Airlines Increase Fares

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines set off a $5 price increase on short-route flights traveling less than 500 miles.

"We never want to increase fares for customers, and are proud of the low fares we offer on Sometimes, though, an increase is necessary to cover the cost of our business, including fuel," a spokesperson for Southwest declared.

Other U.S. carriers, including United Airlines, Delta Airlines and American Airlines, said they matched the Southwest increase.

Mysteriously, they all matched the increase?
Aren´t there laws to prevent this type of conspiracy action???

Typical "competitive pricing" in this world of "fair market capitalism..." One raises the price knowing full well ahead of time that all others will follow suit.

When are people going to open their eyes and see the "new world capitalism" for what it is?!?!?!?

All the big box stores do the same thing. They all collaborate on sales and pricing. It´s all a big scam.
