Yosemite Tourist Dies of Hantavirus

The California man who died of the uncommon hantavirus likely contracted the virus after staying in Curry Village in June, park officials believe.

A woman who also visited Curry Village in the national park in June is recovering from the virus. Tests proved that it was in feces of deer mice in the lodging area the two victims stayed.

Hantavirus is mainly transmitted to people when they breathe in air contaminated with the virus.
