A male birth control pill advanced one step closer to reality as U.S. researchers were able to generate reversible contraception in male mice.
A small molecular compound called JQ1 inhibited the amount and quality of sperm produced by male mice.
"While we will be conducting more research to see if we can build on our current findings, JQ1 shows initial promise as a lead compound for male contraception," Dr. James Bradner of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute states.
