CDC Report: Very High Obesity Rates in 12 States

 

According to new figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 12 states have an obesity rate greater than 30 percent.

The survey of 400,000 Americans nationwide also shows that about a third of adults in the U.S. are extremely overweight.

At least 30 percent of adults are obese in Alabama (32), Arkansas (30.9), Indiana (30.8), Kentucky (30.4), Louisiana (33.4), Michigan (31.3), Mississippi (34.9), Missouri (30.3), Oklahoma (31.1), S.C. (30.8), Texas (30.4) and West Virginia (32.4).

It is estimated that the amount of extra body fat being carried by the world´s population is equivalent to another one billion people.

From what I look at every day, it may well be true.
