After winning two silver medals in 2004 and 2008, Allyson Felix of the United States finally earned the Olympic gold medal in London.
Felix won the race in 21.88 seconds, topping Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. Carmelia Jeter of the United States was third.
"I´ve waited so long for this moment and I am just overjoyed. There are so many people I love here tonight and I am just overjoyed to share it with them," 26-year-old Felix said.
