"Matrix" Director Comes Out as Transgender

Larry Wachowski, the director of "Matrix", has revealed his transition into a trans woman after undergoing a sex change operation. He is the first Hollywood director to come out publicly as transgender.

In a trailer for his new sci-fi drama "Cloud Atlas" he appears as a woman for the first time and introduces himself as "Lana".

In 2002 Wachowski divorced his wife Thea Bloom. Only one later later it was revealed that the director was "a cross-dresser".
