Samsung Reports Record Profit in Second Quarter

South Korean smartphone maker Samsung reported another record-high quarterly profit due to strong sales of its flagship Galaxy series smartphones.

The company´s net profit swelled to $5.86 billion in the April-June quarter.

Samsung shipped approximately 50 million smartphones from April to June whereas rival Apple is said to have sold only 26 million iPhones in the same quarter.
