Salmonella Outbreak in Five States: 29,339 Pound of Ground Beef Recalled

Cargiff Beef is announcing a recall of almost 30,000 pound of ground beef from a Pennsylvania plant because it is assumed that some packages may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis.

The affected product has been sold in Hannaford Supermarkets in the states Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont and New Hampshire.

According to the CDC, the salmonella outbreak sickened 14 people in the last few days. 11 cases were linked to the contaminated ground beef by Cargiff.
