Researcher Names Blood-Sucking Parasite "Bob Marley"
 

A blook-sucking parasite has been named after reggae legend Bob Marley. Reseacher Paul Sikkel of Arkansas State University says the naming is not meant to be a sign of disrespect, but of admiration.

"Gnathia marleyi" was discovered more than 10 years ago. It inhabits the coral reefs of the shallow eastern Caribbean.

Other prominent people who have had new species named after them include comedian Stephen Colbert and singer Beyonce.

Well, since I´m a Bob Marley fan, the title hit me the wrong way. But the "researcher" claims no ill will. I´ll have to take his word for it.

I emailed them and suggested they use a more approprate name for a blood sucking Parasite. "Willard Romney" is one good name, so is "David Koch" and "IRS" and even better "THE FEDERAL RESERVE"
