Cologne, Germany: 38 Witches Pardoned 400 Years After Execution


The Cologne City Council in Germany has pardoned the most notorius witches who were sentenced to death by torture in the 1600s.

They will now be rehabilitated, say the council members, who voted unanimously in favor of the symbolic gesture Thursday.

It is assumed that about 25,00 men and women were burnt at the stake in Germany for allegedly serving the devil.
