Nintendo to Launch New Gaming Console Wii U by the End of 2013

Nintendo announced that it plans to release its new gaming console, the Wii U, in time for the holiday season.

The Wii U GamePad controller looks a lot like the Wii controller but comes with a a 6.2-inch touchscreen. Furthermore, the console will have its very own social network.

So far Nintendo has kept the price and exact release date of the Wii U a well-kept secret.

  i assume
you mean "by the end 2012"

and their secret price point is the reasons the xbox360 and ps3 haven´t given their price drop announcement...

according to analysts if the Wii U costs more than $300 they won´t need a price drop, if its prices at $300 or less there will likely be a drop immediately after nintendo makes their announcement to snag more of the market before nintendo even gets a chance... esspecially since the Wii U still cannot compete with the performance of either of the other systems, on virtually any level other than novelty and games that appeal to audience heavily comprised of children (and the main cast of the big bang as opposed to teens or adults... which almost invariably means their fanbase will leavethem for one of the other systems as they get older...

ah nintendo... you used to be fun for all ages.... not that goes to microsux´s xbox360 and sony´s much more flexible albeit much more user unfriendly interfaces.

i´m waiting on the real next (8th) generation consoles... i´m betting videocard wise we get 1-1.5GB and RAM-wise we get 12GB... as for CPU i´m hoping they aim for 3-5 teraflops... and definately more third party flexibility (IE, highest flash support, and hopefully usage of executible filles (.exe´s)... long term upgradability would be good too if they plan to keep pushing consoles for 6-9 year life cycles.
