Col. Mark Adger, Fulton Co. chief jailer, has devised a way to test new door locks on county jail cells. Adger has offered a prize of free food for any of the more skilled lock beaters to earn extra credits for food by escaping the new locks.
Earlier locks were easy to jam and allowed some prisoners the chance to attack other inmates.
Protecting other prisoners from harm is the justification for the food prize contest. Keeping those sentenced in their cells seems a good reason, also.
