Adidas Cancels "Shackle Slave Shoe"

Adidas is pulling a controversial shoe design that critics say evokes slavery. The shoes with bright orange shackles that go around the ankles won´t hit stores as previously planned.

The sports brand posted a photo of the shoes on Facebook and received nearly 3,500 comments. Many complained that the strange design by fashion designer Jeremy Scott is offensive and inappropriate.

"We apologise if people are offended by the design and we are withdrawing our plans to make them available in the marketplace," Adidas officially declared.

Who was the moron that thought it was a good idea to make a slave shoe?

  @Lurker

The line thought up with the shoe was "Is your game so good you have to lock your shoes to you?" or something like that.
Something that probably should have been included in the article here...

  It would look

pretty bizarre to see people chained to their shoes. Who would want that stuff hanging there? What if the chain got caught on things, lol

  LOL

A shackle to hold the pants up might be a better idea.
