Myanmar: Former Political Prisoner Suu Kyi Leaves the Country to Finally Accept Nobel Prize


Opposition leader Aung San Suii Kyi is set to return to Europe where she will accept her 1991 Nobel Piece Prize.

It is her first trip to Europe since 1988. The politician spent much of the past 24 years under house arrest in Myanmar.

The Nobel Prize honored her struggle against the country┬┤s dictatorship and brought the issue into wider public consciousness.
