Study Links Lack of Sleep to Stroke Risk

A new study suggests that getting less than six hours of sleep per night quadruples the risk of a stroke.

The goverment study conducted earlier this year found that 30 percent of working adults get only six hours of sleep or even less.

"The public is less aware of the impact of insufficient amounts of sleep. Sleep is important — the body is stressed when it doesn´t get the right amount," says lead author Megan Ruiter.
