Mandatory Helmet Law Repeals Result in More Motorcycle Fatalaties
 

According to a report by FairWarning.org, fatal motorcycle accidents are on the rise as many U.S. states have repealed the mandatory helmet law.

Whereas in 1997 2,226 motorcyclstists lost their lives on the road, the number surged to 4,502 by 2010.

Michigan became the latest U.S. state to push for a helmet reform. Motorcycle operators aged 21 or older are allowed to ride without a helmet if they meet certain requirements and have additional insurance coverage.

An example of more of this libertarian nonsense and there´s your result. You have the constitutional right to kill yourself. The second amendment even gives you the right to use a gun to kill yourself or someone else. What a country.

Seems to me that they should just mandate a seat belt law for motorcycles. After all it´s when they are thrown that they hit their head and become injured or a fatality.
I just never could understand how you are fined for not wearing a seat belt in a car, but you can drive a motorcycle without a helmet and it´s OK.

the raise in fatal motorcycle accidents is clearly due to gas prices. The price of gas drives people who have no clue how to ride in to buying a bike to save gas. More bikes less experience more deaths

actually teh second ammendment said teh right to bare arms shall not be infringed (in part). no whete does it give the right to kill. that comes under a u.s. title requiring all able bodied males to take up arms against the common foe. which could be taken to be all druggies as there is no defination of what a common foe is ..
