According to a report by FairWarning.org, fatal motorcycle accidents are on the rise as many U.S. states have repealed the mandatory helmet law.
Whereas in 1997 2,226 motorcyclstists lost their lives on the road, the number surged to 4,502 by 2010.
Michigan became the latest U.S. state to push for a helmet reform. Motorcycle operators aged 21 or older are allowed to ride without a helmet if they meet certain requirements and have additional insurance coverage.
