BP said it reached a deal with the plaintiffs involved in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. All that are damaged by the April 20, 2010 explosion of the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig and oil spill will be fully compensated.
This has been confirmed by a group representing the plaintiffs in the case. "The settlement is to be fully funded by BP, with no cap on the amount BP will pay," the group also said.
The British oil giant expected to pay out about $7.8 billion to settle claims from thousands of plaintiffs.
