The Australian Defense Material Organization has chosen Saab to be the provider of the man-portable Carl-Gustaf M3 weapon system.
The ammunition order has a value of $23.9 million. The Carl-Gustaf weapon has been used by the Australian troops since 2009. Saab has exported it to 40 nations worldwide.
"This shows the high level of trust Australia has for the Carl-Gustaf system. It is a strategic and important contract securing production as well as contributing to further development of the system," Saab explained.
