Mormon Sect Leader Convicted of Sexual Assaults Against 12-Year-Old, 14-Year-Old "Wives"
Polygamist Warren Jeffs, who led a breakaway Mormon sect, has been found guilty of child sex assaults against two underage girls with whom he said he had "spiritual marriages." He could be sentenced to up to 119 years in prison.
Jeffs, the head of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, has made loud outbursts claiming the government is trampling his rights. His sect has about 10,000 members in North America and is condemned by mainstream Mormons.
In what was supposed to have been his closing argument, Jeffs merely stood silently for over 20 minutes, then said "I am at peace" quietly and sat back down. Representing himself, he questioned one witness for more than four hours.
That´s quite a religion he had going for himself; practice being a pedophile and call it religion. How do you convince a 12 year old girl that God wants her to be raped by you? This man is a sicko and so are all the others who do this against children for ANY reason.

Read up on ´lost boys´ -- a lot of them are excommunicated from their religion for the sole purpose of reducing competition for wives in order to give the older men more chances to have multiple (often much younger) wives. I´d say its safe to say a 12 year old doesn´t fit in the legal definition of marriageability and marrying a 12 year old is a path for pedophiles to have sex with underage women and appear to be legit.

The only way that it would be ok for any given person on this earth to have sex is for them to be psychologically developed to the point of sexual maturity, and then only having a partner who is within the sam realm of development. As ben pointed out, brain development does not finish till early 20´s or even mid 20´s. To say a teenager is compitent to make that choice is ludacris.
