Disabled Congo Musicians Conquer Europe

Staff Benda Bilili ("look beyond appearances") is an African band consisting of talented disabled musicians. They were discovered in 2004 by a French film maker duo.

Then they recorded an album ("Tres Tres Fort") and are currently touring across Europe with their unique mix of classic Congolese grooves with funky reggae beats.

The film makers also made a documentary on the musicians´ life in the slums of the Republic of Congo. The film was presented at last year´s Cannes Film Festival.
