Jordanian Monarch Establishes New Government

King Abdullah II of Jordan has thrown out his existing cabinet and given orders to a former military general to form a new government.

This move comes in response to massive street protests inspired by similar protests in Egypt and Tunisia.

Many Jordanians are upset and want to hold the government accountable for massive public debt. Jordan is one of the smallest Arab economies, and is dependent on outside aid packages.
