On Thursday, in the sleepy town of Angola Indiana, at about 5am, residents were awoken to sound of a large explosion. Apparently a car in the parking lot caught fire and exploded. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
Although multiple local witness claim the cause was a mobile methamphetamine lab, local and federal law enforcement are denying such claims. Agents from the Angola, Steuben County, and Indiana State Police as well as the ATF assisted at the scene.
Several residents had to be evacuated.
Officer Harry Nix of the Indiana State Police, a bomb specialist, claimed “From the evidence on the scene, it doesn’t appear as though it was (a methamphetamine lab) but we’re not ruling anything out.”
