Obama Wants to Delist Endangered Animals

The grizzly bear and the gray wolf may be unprotected under the Endangered Species Act, if the Obama administration has its way.

Some estimates have the number of bears and wolves at safe numbers. Ranchers and sport-hunters argue the animals pose a threat to herds and livestock.

Mike Leahy, Rocky Mountain regional director of Defenders of Wildlife, argues rash decisions, motivated politically, would undermine the Endagered Species Act and science.

Obviously, the more land one occupies, the more "danger" there is of confrontations. People don´t care if animals exist on earth at all, when they´re trying to feed themselves.

Endangered animal steak! Yummy!

  Wolves

I would love to see the wolves de-listed. They are decimating our Montana Elk population. Grizzlies on the other hand are still in pretty low numbers as far as I am aware.

  In WI

We´ve even seen wolves in WI recently. They, along with the coyotes, are doing a number on the Whitetail Deer population where we hunt.

  Idiotic govt, regs

When an animal is listed and they come upon your land you can´t kill them if they are merely eating your livestock...they have to threaten you directly.

If they are in the wild, leave them alone but farmer´s and ranchers must be allowed to protect their livestock...but only within the confines of their land and w/o penalty.

I think we should delist both tourists and politicians. Why do they call it "tourist season" if we can´t shoot them...LOL!!!

yes, because your right to hunt the deer exceeds the rights of other life forms to try and survive.
What are the wolves supposed to eat? the Rancher is already growing food for you, you don´t want the wolves to hunt livestock but you want to hunt their wild prey. So what´s left for them?

Talesman12 has half a good idea, I don´t see what tourist do but inject money into economies other than their local one.... But Politicians, Blast away

The wolves were out of existence in North America until the enviro´s decided to re-introduce them without thinking of the consequences or even a plan of how to manage wolves. They brough a fierce predator back into the picture to compete with everything that wiped it out in the first place. I´m not saying wolves don´t have a place in our landscape. I´m saying that current regulation is putting too much additional stress on an already stressed ecosystem. Wolves should be treated like coyotes and allowed to be hunted as such as varmints rather than game to keep their numbers in check. Instead we have a blanket ruling stating that they are protected even if they have more than enough numbers to be de-listed in some areas.

  Suck It Up!!

If they remove the grizzley bear and grey wolf, we all know hunters will organize a hunting season. Which will result in having the grey wolf back on the endangered speices.
