A nineteen-year-old Alberta youth, Hamish Jacobs, has been denied permission to wear a kilt at the Raymond High School graduation in southern Alberta. His family immigrated from Perth in 1965 and is proud of their roots.
"I want to wear it out of respect for my ancestors, and because it´s just what Scottish people wear to formal things," says the young man who manages a Little Caesar´s Pizza.
The kilt was of the Forbes clan, which was his uncles. Much editorializing has been inspired by his plight. Pipers are often allowed to wear them. Thus far, Late Late Show´s Craig Furguson has not responded to inquiries.
