According to the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center, the most popular subject of discussion from callers on Halloween wasn't ingesting candy, but glow stick fluid. 43 calls were received, with victims ranging from 10 months to 45 years.
One Poison Control official said, "While it is an irritant, it is not something you need to go to the emergency room for." Glow sticks contain hydrogen peroxide in a small glass cylinder which is broken to make an alcohol mix, starting the reaction.
