Forklift Driver Demolishes Entire Warehouse Full of Alcoholic Beverages

Russia: A forklift driver in a Moscow warehouse caused around £60,000 of damage when he lost control of his vehicle and backed into the corner of a shelving unit, causing it to collapse.

The damaged shelving unit fell onto another, setting off a cascade and sending the entire warehouse inventory of vodka and cognac in glass bottles crashing to the ground.

Colleagues scrambled to his assistance as the unfortunate driver and his forklift were buried in bottles of booze. He fared considerably better than the stock, escaping with a minor leg injury. Security footage of the incident was posted online.

I´m reminded of this http://www.youtube.com/ but it hardly seems sufficient so if someone feels the need to say a few words go right ahead.

  Now that is severe alcohol abuse...
 The driver was pulled from the lake of vodka 3 times but valiantly fought off rescuers and jumped back into the brew where he eventually drank himself to death.

  Chop His Head Off And Crucify The Body
 This is true sacrilege. The spirits have been set free. (80 Proof that is).

With all that alcohol it is a wonder the fork lift did not ignite it. The dude doesn´t know it but that was his lucky day. He could have been a living flambe.

 not likely... 100 proof it a minimum proofing needed to sustain a flame... anything below 100 prrof (50% alcohol) wont even ignite gun powder, which was how proofing was originally established, which means it would be less than 300C (which i think is the ignitiition temperature of gunpowder) which is no less than 3 times lower temperature than a common lighter.

so it was unlikely for it to ignite, and even less likely for him to actually be burned by it, more liekly it would burn off before burning him (as it does for gunpowder when the alcohol is below 100 proof)... remember even when alcohol does burns it burns cool, not hot, thats also what the invisible to blue flame of alcohol indicates.

he was far more likely to drown in it, succumb to alcohol poisoning, or suffer enough cuts to be lethal... but burning to death, not too likely.

as for the forklifter, he was an idiot he didn`t `lose control` he accelerated backwards WITHOUT turning the corner or going straight... if you ask me he was probably drunk before the alcohol came crashing down.

i hope at the very least he lost his job, as in the video you can see the forklift is very much capable of turning... but HE wasn`t, rather he accelerated directly into a support post for shelving... it almost even looks deliberate... no-one that was actually trained, has basic common sense or awareness could have done this by accident.

  I have no problem with this
 He shoulda been more careful, but I´m glad to see the world rid of some of it´s retarding booze.

  @Havoc
 I guess, you have never driven a forklift before. According to the video, it was an honest mistake, however Alcohol is not ruled out, given the nature of trade..

@Ixu: Thanx for the video´s. Classic.
