US Attack on Pakistan “imminent” says Pakistani Press

The Pakistani daily Nawa-i-Waqt has accused the US President George W Bush of planning direct military action against the country while another Pakastani daily, Jasarat claims that a US attack on the country is “imminent.”

The Nawa-i-Waqt daily claimed "[The US'] unjustified support of Israel, its occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq, [and its] hostile ambitions against Pakistan, Iran, Syria..” were the reason for anti-US feeling among young Muslims.

George W. Bush claimed in an ABC News interview that another 9/11 style attack on the US was possibly being planned inside Pakistan.

  Woah now.
 This would be a disaster for both countries if it were plausible. I don't think it is at all and some people are working up fearmongering stories to grab attention.

There are so many Pakistani living in the USA-- I can't imagine what would happen....

 US and Pakistan allies?
 by: tiggyfiggy   04/20/2008 12:45 PM
  @tiggyfiggy
 in the same way Iraq and Afghanistan were US allies.

Pakistan is a nuclear power, the only reason the US would attack them would be to instigate a larger regional war. If they really wanted to attack Pakistan then would send countless weapons to everyone in Pakistan hostile to Musharraf, watch as civil war breaks out and pretend they had nothing to do with it

  With allies like that...
 who needs enemies?

  @anyone
 Thinks maybe the US wants to take control of Pakistan before Musharraf loses it?

 With allies like that, they both need ENEMA.

  ugh
 You guys trying to make dooms day out of this? We need to be in those tribal areas of Pakistan... That is were Osama is... The other democratic half of Pakistan can keep its mouth shut. Cause they are not equipped, trained or willing to flush out the extremist in the north.
Also I love how this article slips in the words Iran and Syria.. Total BS... Just trying to make everyone sound like the victims... Cause in reality we are not looking nor wanting to go into Syria or Iran it would be unjustifiable. Just blatant misinformation slipped into Iranian news.

  even
 even rumsfeld said america can fights 2 wars at once. but not 3. this is all hype. given the daily news reports a third front isn't happening. no military in history can take that on.

  @steme
 so thats how you justify trying to start an illegal war with a third country.

  illigeal war..
 Its not a war when you surgically use small teams of elite CIA units and Spec ops. This is the country that is harboring the man who attacked us... Were not going to Air strike,artillery nor invade there soil with mechanized infantry. Just small teams doing what the Pakistanis have failed to do.

  No chance...
 Bush is insane, but even he knows the world is sick to the back teeth of him.

 The AlQaeda slipped in a small surgical team and took down the towers and hit the Pentagon. My Dear it was war. ultimately against the wrong country but war.

have you not been paying attention bin laden is not a concern.. even bush admitted this... thw war itself it the concern, keeping it going... thats how the war-profiteering works.

small teams eh?

like the 30000 marines which failed miserably given more than 5 years in afghanistan... you THINK bin laden is in pakistan... for all you know he's living were his family used to, in virgina next to the CIA...lol

personally i'm still waiting for proof of bin laden involvement, he denies it. but there a numnber a fake videos of "bin laden" saying otherwise, yet they couldn't even bother finding a person with a similar complexion or facial structure... not that the average american would be able to tell the difference... most arabs look alike to them... its like that in canada too.

  @uh
 Wasn't Bin Laden staying at a US hospital in Dubai when "it" went down? Can anyone explain that?

@steme
Al Qaeda slipped in a small team into the WTC and installed thousands of small explosives to make a controlled demolition of the two buildings?
Ok, I follow.

But then they decided to go the extra mile and hijack some planes and ram them into the buildings?
Wow, I knew these guys were nuts, but not THIS NUTS.

 Elite CIA units?

There is the winner of the oxymoron award of the day.

The CIA may have an abundance of units - but not single one could be considered "elite".

By your own logic - it should then be acceptable for any other nation to send their troops into Washington DC to remove GWB - since the Americans have failed to do so.

  lol
 'Elite' can be used to describe any personal highly trained for combat... But I did just pick it up from yahoo news coverage of this story. Its not like the CIA just tells us the name of there groups or units...

  @tiggyfiggy
 Below is a link to an article I read over a year ago about relationship that Pakistan and the US have...it seems to be one of necessity for the US to have a presence in eastern Asia and less about actually being "allies"

  @Zpravodajec
 of course CIA units are elite... after all they trained bin laden...lol

@steme the names of CIA unit would mostly be black "whatever" (for the ones that aren't well known; IE black ops) or "counter "whatever" (the ones most people know about; IE counter terrorism.

ultimately the CIA has always been the propaganda wing of the US goverment, namely against communism (namely the soviet union), but since the end of the cold war they've been a bit confused.

  Hmmm
 I doubt the US will attack Pakistan as well. It just doesn't seem possible. If they throw too many people into the war machine their economy will crash as there'll be no-one left at home to work and contribute. It would also knock a good deal of the population out forever, they'll be dead or missing limbs etc. so will never be as productive as they could be, and may require help for the rest of their lives.

 Wake up man!!!

Osama bin laden did not plan nor was he involved in 9/11. Bush administration did all that... and before everyone starts going of on one, if you must reply to me, at least know what you're talking about, like i do :)
