New York City officials canceled this year´s Central Park Ice Festival because of the icy weather and high winds in the area.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the minus teens this Valentine´s weekend. "Safety is of the utmost importance to the Central Park Conservancy. We have to take all things into consideration," the Central Park Conservancy said.
The free annual event with lights, music and ice sculptures carved by local artists will not be rescheduled.
