Fish Populations Across World´s Oceans Contaminated With Toxic Pollutants

Acoording to a new global analysis of seafood by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California San Diego, fish populations throughout the world´s oceans are contaminated with industrial and agricultural pollutants.

Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) can be found anywhere and in any species of marine fish.

The researchers, however, also informed that pollutant concentrations in marine fish are steadily declining. "But there still remains a chance of getting a fillet as contaminated as what your parents ate," lead author Lindsay Bonito says.
