Poll: 71 Percent of Americans Say Shooting Violence Normal Part of American Life

A new poll by NBC News/Wall Street Journal finds that 71 percent of Americans believe that shootings and other acts of mass violence are now a permanent part of life in our country.

Only 21 percent of those surveyed said such acts of violence are exceptional and won´t happen as often in the future.

"These results do not represent blips on the radar but a true psychological shift in American attitudes," says Democratic pollster Fred Young. The survey of 1,000 adults nationwide was conducted last week.
