Scott Weiland Dies at Age 48

Scott Weiland, former lead singer of the Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, has died at the age of 48. A statement on his Facebook page says the musician died in his sleep while on tour with his current band, Scott Weiland & the Wildabouts.

"I can´t deal with this right now. It´s true," his wife, Jamie, reportedly told The Los Angeles Times. Weiland battled substance abuse for many years.

The Stone Temple Pilots were one of the biggest bands of the 90s. Their hits include "Creep", "Interstate Love" and "Plush". In 2003, Weiland joined Velvet Revolver, which teamed him with ex-Guns N’ Roses members Slash and Duff McKagan.
