Aspirin May Prevent Some Types of Cancer

According to a new study by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, taking aspirin regularly over several years may ward off certain types of cancer.

Researchers found that regular aspirin reduced the risk of gastrointestinal cancer by 20 percent and the risk of colorectal cancer by 25 percent.

Postdoctoral research fellow Yin Cao, however, says "patients and doctors need to consider the potential risks of taking aspirin, including stomach bleeding".
