NASA Plans to Explore Venus

NASA says it is looking into ways to send a manned mission to Venus.

Mars has been seen as the next logical step for years because of its low temperatures and NASA plans a mission to the Red Planet by the 2030s.

Venus, however, is the Earth´s nearest planetary neighbor. What makes a mission difficult is its atmosphere - the extremely hot surface temperatures. Nevertheless, a manned mission to Venus is expected to be simpler and less expensive than to Mars.
